My primary focus is the intuitive application of varied elements - mixed media and collage. Multiple layers of acrylic paint, adding and subtracting line, texture, value, and form are applied to canvas and other substrates. Neutral, subtle, monochromatic palettes set my tone/ mood. Calligraphy, bold and free mark-making create a dialogue. Abstractions found within images, sanding numerous layers of paint are layered to echo journeys traveled. The excitement of discovering new unexpected dynamics and techniques of painting keep me inspired and engaged.
